2024/06/07-09｜TANP Attend the 15th Joint Academic Conference of the Japan Primary Care Association@Hamamatsu, Japan 🗾
From June 7th to 9th, 2024, the Japan Primary Care Association (JPCA) invited President Heng-Hsin Tung to deliver a keynote speech at the 15th Joint Scientific Meeting of the Japan Primary Care Association in Hamamatsu City. The delegation, led by President Heng-Hsin Tung and Founding President Dr. Shiow-Luan Tsay, included Professor Sophia Hu and Assistant Professor Hui-Fang Yeh. The itinerary encompassed hospital visits and participation in the academic conference.

The conference aimed to promote academic exchange and knowledge sharing in the field of primary care, with the theme "Towards Sustainable Primary Health Care―Leaving No One Behind." It attracted approximately 6,000 physicians, nurses, and related healthcare professionals and scholars from all over Japan.

On the afternoon of June 7th, the delegation first visited Seirei Hamamatsu General Hospital to observe the clinical practice of nurse practitioners and engage in discussions with the hospital staff. In the evening, they participated in the "Taiwan-Japan-Korea Advanced Nursing Exchange Networking Seminar" with Assistant Professor Choi from Korea. Distinguished guests included local nursing experts, nurse practitioners, and other interested parties in advanced nursing.

On June 8th, the delegation attended the academic conference, where attendees shared their experiences and insights. In the evening, a welcome banquet was held, attended by notable guests including Dr. Brian Chang, President of WONCA APR, Dr. Tesshu Kusaba, President of the JPCA, and Dr. Machiko Inoue, Chair of the conference. The four members of the delegation engaged in in-depth exchanges with guests from various countries, enjoying a wonderful time together.

On June 9th, President Heng-Hsin Tung delivered a speech on the second day of the conference during the "Frontline of Nurse Practitioners in Primary Care in Asia" session. The topic was "Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care in Taiwan." Other speakers included Nurse Miss Chieko Yao from Japan and Assistant Professor Choi from Korea. Founding President Dr. Shiow-Luan Tsay also participated in a comprehensive forum, deepening academic exchanges among Taiwan, Japan, and Korea, and providing valuable insights for the development of primary care.

The participation of the TANP in the 15th Joint Scientific Meeting of the Japan Primary Care Association not only showcased the development of nurse practitioners in primary care in Taiwan but also fostered collaboration and exchange among nurse practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region. The association hopes to deepen connections with international benchmark resources through this event, creating more opportunities for future in-depth exchanges. The association will continue to promote more international exchanges and cooperation, gaining broader recognition for Taiwan nurse practitioners on the international stage and creating a brighter future together.
